NOTW: Nail Polish Strips Application

Hi beauties,

Before put and end to August 2012, I would share a tutorial of how to apply Nail Polish Strips. I'm sure some of us already knew about Nail Polish Strips, or also known as nail patches or dry nail applique. They are printed, self-adhesive and long- wearing polish stickers for nails. This new kind of polish has been introduced to the market by several popular brands, include Sally Hansen and OPI. You basically could find it at department stores, or beauty supply stores.  

These strips are made to self-adhere directly on the nail without applying glue to the strip or the nail. The strips are very thin and made of plastic-like material, which added protection from breaking or chipping nail. You could have unusual nail design on your finger nails and your toes only in seconds with zero drying time or smudging.

Before continue to the tutorial, let's prepare the tools you need:

1. Your choice of nail polish strips/ nail patches

2. Nail file

3. Base and top coat

Now, let's start the tutorial!!

1. I got my pink leopard-print nail polish strips, came in a pack of twelve

2. Remove previous nail posh, file and clean the nail. You might apply a layer of base coat to protect your nails.
(For the side notes, I prefer not buffing it; the strip won't adhere properly on a nail that is too smooth )

3. Select the appropriate size strip for your nail.
Remove the protective backing and apply the adhesive side directly on the nail. 

4. Smoothing the design over your nail with your finger, gently taking out any air bubbles and help the strip adhere better on the nail.

5. Use the nail file to get rid of the excess strip by gently filing the nail, thus cutting the strip.
File the edges to make it smooth. 

6. Finish it with a layer of clear top coat (optional)

Overall thoughts:

I feel really amazed for this nail polish strip invention. It is easy and quick to apply. I personally require quite some time to paint my nails with regular polishes, especially if there are smudges ;( 

But with these strips, I could have the perfect and glamorous nails within minutes (consider there are ten finger nails). If you are a busy bee, you should definitely try this nail polish strips. 

I actually didn't layer my strips with the top coat, since I found the liquid wet the sticker and slightly ruin the design. Although I didn't apply top coat, I managed to wear it about 4 days without chipping. The other good thing is either you have short or long nails, you could flexibly adjust it.

Review: NYX Liquid Black Liner Collection Noir

I have been all about NYX recently since my friend introduced me to this brand. NYX offers a lot of good quality products yet in affordable price. That's why don't be too surprised if I picked up and did review most of NYX products. After testing my new NYX Liquid Black Liner from Collection Noir for more than a month, I discovered that this product has been my most favorite eyeliner for this month. Absolutely love it!!! <3

Without further ado, let's see what do I like about this product:

1. The thin brush with a precision tip

NYX Liquid Black Liner comes with a fairly thin brush, perfect to draw a precise line, especially for a winged liner lover. Basically with this eyeliner, you could have either super thin line or build it up into thicker line, just as you prefer. It also glides smoothly during application. As you saw in the image, the wand is a little bit long. I feel it's much easier to control with a shorter wand. 

2. The eyeliner formulation

NYX Liquid Black Liner is the only liquid eyeliner as part of NYX Collection Noir, and only available in jet black shade. Not forget to mention, I love the formulation of this liquid liner. It is not too watery or too thick either, just has the perfect opaque black consistency.  

3. Long-lasting wearing

Although this product is not stated as waterproof eyeliner, I would define it as a long wearing liquid eyeliner. I have quite dry skin and it last perfectly on me around 8 hours of wear. Even if you have oily skin, I saw many reviews that it actually still lasted quite long hours. In the matter of smudge-proof, I tried to rub it when I did the swatch on my hand, and it evidently didn't smudge.

NOTW : China Glaze Electric Beat

Dear lovelies,

As my promise earlier, I finally upload my review post about my favorite blue polish, China Glaze Electric Beat. This was the shade that drew me instantly among other polishes from China Glaze Electropop Collection, their Spring 2012 collection. Not forget to mention that the collection consist of gorgeous fun spring and summery colors. So, if you are interested with fun bright colors, you must check this collection.

China Glaze Electric Beat is a soft light dusty blue color with a cream finish. I did find quite challenging to find the exact blue shade that really pop on my skin color. Then when I saw this blue shade, I told myself that it's the one!! (haha...I know it sounds ridiculous, but that's true). 

I know that sometimes China Glaze formula isn't really the best, but in my opinion they have quite good formula for their cream polishes. I found that this polish has quite thick consistency, so you need to wipe it carefully while applying. I applied two coats and it was already opaque and streak-free. 

The only downside is the shade is quite similar to China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le. Though if you compare both shades in real, CG Peri-wink-le has a slight more lilac undertone than Electric Beat. 

I absolutely suggest this shade if you're looking for a cheerful light blue shade for summertime.

Accessories Haul ft. Grosir Fashion Online

I know I've been away in the blogging society for a while, especially in July. I was bit overwhelmed by my work, as well as I'm currently working on something exciting with my friend. Hopefully, I could share the news to you all in this  month (finger crossed!!)

Then, until last month when I was looking for a good website for accessories, I came across to this website again.  I was so excited when I saw many varieties of accessories in the affordably cheap price. Personally, I do try to save more for the seasonal and casual accessories. I was quite skeptical for the quality at first, since the way how universe works is that cheap price doesn't guarantee the good quality. However, I've read good comments by the buyers after their purchases through the website. I was like what the heck I'll never know if don't try to buy. Then, I decided to trust the comments and go ahead to buy some that I like.

Without being sponsored by the company or other business purposes, I just want to share my honest experience shopping with them. I decided to show you what I managed to get from them (sounds like a mini accessories haul).

What do I like about this online shop?

1. They offer many varieties of accessories, practically in different price ranges.

2. Absolutely the PRICE... totally affordable wholesale price. 

3. User friendly website. It is really easy to navigate and follow the process from submitting your order, checking the stock, finalizing the payment, until the shipment.

4. Although the price is relatively cheap, the quality is not bad at all. For example, the spike bracelet was under Rp 25.000, but the quality is pretty good and such a sturdy piece. When you see it in person, it actually doesn't look that cheap. 

Possible downside???

1. Since it offers a lot of varieties, you could be confused to choose the pieces. My suggestion is to sort the category you want by your preference. I do personally sort it by best seller, since it's normally shown the favorite pieces.

2. Aside from the varieties, I would say their stock quantity is quite plenty. Hence, sometimes you might find other people is also wearing the same pieces as yours. Luckily, so far I've just seen the same pieces as mine only on celebrity in television.

3. You should be patient if you ordering by this website because you should wait around 2 weeks to get the pieces (namely pre-order). And I was actually impressed that they actually shipped my order exactly within 2 weeks time. Otherwise, if you are in hurry to wear the pieces, probably you should look at their other website, Grosir Fashion Online.NET with ready stock options. 

If you are looking for trendy statement accessories and happen to live in Indonesia, I suggest you to take a look at this website. Overall, I'm really pleased with the services, prices and products of this online shop.
