NOTW Valentine's Day 2013: Love Is In The Air

Hello everyone ^^

First of, Happy Chinese New Year for all of you who celebrated <3 Hope you all had a wonderful celebration and may the year of snake will be better in everything :D

Moreover, I do apologize that I was a bit behind for publishing blog posts lately. I was overwhelmed with my work and personal matter. But I always try my best to spare some time to write a blog post at least once a week. Today's post will be another nail art tutorial, dedicated specially for this coming Valentine's day <3

I can't believe that Valentine's day is only 2 days away. I know that most of you might spend this special day with your beloved partners. It could be your boy/girlfriend, husband/wife, family members or best friends. Therefore, to make it more special let's make something fun with our nails too ^^

The theme of this nail is still all about love and hearts, and I named this design as "Love Is In The Air", because I personally believe that love could be everywhere, just like air.

Products used:
1. Base coat and top coat
2. Light blue polish - China Glaze Flyin' High
3. White polish - Orly French Manicure Nail Lacquer
4. Red polish - Revlon 745 Frankly Scarlet
5. Dotting tools
6. Blank paper
Tutorial:
1. Apply base coat to protect your natural nails
2. Apply your choice of base color, for example light blue color to represent the sky
3. After applying your base color, start drawing clouds.
a/ Using a dotting tool dipped into the white polish, start to create white dot next to each other until it looks like cloud
b/ Repeat the same steps to create random other clouds
4. Add little hearts between clouds using dotting tool dipped into red polish. Place two small red dots next to each other until it looks like heart.

5. <<Optional>> You could add fimo (heart shaped with love sign) for nail decoration, like what I did on my both thumbs.
6. Let it dry for 30 minutes, then finish with top coat to seal your design.

7. And voilà...you are good to go with this cute Valentine's nail!!!

I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and having a lovely Valentine's Day celebration; whether you are going on a date with special someone or just chilling with your family and friends at home, you can still have fun look on your nails, just for you :)

Happy Valentine's Day <3<3<3

NOTW Christmas 2012: Cute Winter Snowman Nail

Dear girlies,

Today's post will be my last Christmas nail design post series in 2012. Originally I want to recreate four Christmas nail designs and I knew that now I'm a bit behind for this, but I've been ill for few days that's why I don't think I could post the fourth design on time :(

Speaking of which, who doesn't love to have a White Christmas with all snows around for this time of the year. I totally would love to, however since I won't particularly have a White Christmas this year, I decided to rock wintery theme on my nails instead. I feel winter is not complete without building a snowman tradition; since obviously I could not build one that's why I painted cute snowman on my nails, alternated with snow flakes on the other nails. If you would like to see how I create the design, please keep reading through!! ;)

First, let's see what you need to prepare first!!
Products Used
1. Base coat and top coat
2. Light blue polish- O.P.I What's with the Cattitude?
3. White polish - Orly French Manicure Nail Lacquer
4. Black polish - Orly Liquid Vinyl
5. Red polish - Revlon 745 Frankly Scarlet
6. Pink / orange polish, O.P.I Strawberry Margarita
7. Dotting tools
8. Nail art brushes

Now, let's see how I create the design!!
Tutorial
1. First of all, apply your favorite base coat to protect your natural nails.
2. Paint your entire nails with light blue polish as the base color. You might use other alternative color, like light purple.

Snowman part:
3. With a dotting tool dipped into the white polish, create one large circle near the edge of the nail for the body, and the smaller one on top for the head. In order to make a better shape, twirl the dotting tool while you creating the circle.
4. Place two small black dots for his eyes.
5. Draw small triangle for the nose using a nail art brush dipped into the pink polish. I recommend you to use orange polish if you have any. I was using pink since I ran out of the orange polish.
6. - Add two small red dots on the body as the buttons.
- With a nail art brush dipped into the black polish, draw two lines at the right and left side of the body for his hands. You also could add a little pair of mitten.
- To create his hat, using a nail art brush dipped into black polish, draw a horizontal line on top of his head and draw a square shape above the line.

Snowflakes part:
7. Using a nail art brush dipped into the white polish, create one X and a line go through it until it looks like asterisk (*). Then, add a little V shape at the end of each line to complete the snowflakes.
8. Using a dotting tool dipped into the white polish, fill the empty area with white dots to create snow.
9. Let the design dry about 30 minutes.
10. Last but not least, apply a layer of top coat to preserve and smoothen the design.
11. And now, you are good to go!! ^^
That's it girls!! So easy, right??!! I hope you all enjoy this post and if you recreate the design, let me know below or send me the pictures to my twitter @classyjezzie

Lastly, I wish you all Merry Christmas and may you all rejoice the spirit of Christmas with your beloved family, friends, and colleagues!! <3<3<3

NOTW: Halloween Nail Edition #2 - The Mummy Returns

Hi everyone...

As my promise, I'm back with my next Halloween nail art tutorial :) Today's nail art will be about recreating a mummy look. I guess this look will be different and fun for Halloween theme. Below is the sneak peek of the final result!!

To achieve the look, you need to prepare:
1. Base coat and top coat
2. Gold or bronze polish- I used OPI Designer de Better
3. Black nail polish + Nail art brush (or a black nail art pen)-Orly Liquid Vinyl
4. White nail polish - OPI Alpine Snow
5. Nail Dotting tool
6. Makeup sponge
7. A piece of paper

Now, let's follow below steps!!!
1. Apply base coat to protect your nails
2. Paint your entire nail white
3. Put two drops of gold polish on a piece of paper. Then, using a make up sponge, lightly dab the gold polish on nail
4. Dab the gold polish to your other nails to add some texture.
5. Using a black nail polish and nail art brush (or black nail art pen), make random diagonal and horizontal lines
6. Under tip of the nail, make a half curve shape between the lines and fill it in with black color
7. a) Using a dotting tool and white polish, make two white dots touching each other for the mummy's eyes
  b) With dotting tool and black polish, make two smaller dots for his pupils
8. Let the design dry about 15-20 minutes then preserve your nail design with a top coat.
Closer look of the design
It's not as difficult as it seems. If you struggle using nail art brush, I recommend you to use the nail art pen, which is easier to handle. I hope you like this nail design as much as the previous one, and let me know if you recreate this nail design for your Halloween party.

NOTW : Halloween Nail Edition #1 - Cute Frankenstein

Dear lovelies,

Halloween is coming really soon... Therefore, for Nail of The Week (NOTW) posts of October, I challenged myself to do three different Halloween nail art tutorials that will be uploaded one by one each week. You are welcomed to recreate the design as many times as you like. I will try my best to upload it as early as possible, so you could practice your desired design first before the big day. I appreciate if you could share some photos of your re-creation to my twitter account @classyjezzie.

For the first design, I choose to recreate a Frankenstein look. This design requires a bit more details compared to the other two upcoming designs. However, it is still pretty easy yet cute. And let's see below is the finish look!

Without further ado, here is what you need to prepare before jump into the tutorial!
  1. Base coat and top coat

  4. Lime green nail polishOPI Who the Shrek Are You?
  5. Nail Dotting tools

Now, let's do it!!!
Reminder: Protect your nails with base coat!!
1. Paint your entire nails with a lime green nail polish
2. Draw Frankenstein's hair on the tip of the nail, with black nail polish and nail art brush
3. Draw his pair of eyes, with white polish and dotting tool
4.a) Use black nail polish and nail art brush to draw the other details, such as: the mouth, eyebrows, and stitches for lips
  b) Use black nail polish and dotting tool, to dot in the iris of his eyes
5. Wait 15-20 minutes to let the design dry
6. Apply a fast drying top coat to preserve the design
7. Repeat the same steps for your other nails, and voilà... here is the cute Frankenstein nail!

That's it girl... So easy, right??
In case you find it a bit tricky to use the brush, don't be stressed out!! You still have time to practice. When you are doing your own nail art, try to enjoy the fun!! It eventually has an impact on your finish result.

I hope you all enjoy this tutorial and thanks for stopping by. I will be back with other Halloween nail tutorial next week.

NOTW: DIY Ombré Nail Art

Hi girls,

Ombré trend is really hot right now. We could easily find this trend in clothing, hairstyles, and even nail design. This time, I would like to share how I do my DIY Ombré Nail Art. If you like to play around with the nail trend, I recommend you to try this trend too. It's just so easy and simple!!
Products I used:
1. Base coat
2. White nail polish, my usual Orly French Manicure Nail Lacquer
3. Soft light blue creme nail polish, which is China Glaze Electric Beat. It is my absolute favorite blue shade, and promise I'll do the review ASAP
4. Top coat
5. Makeup sponge (I'm using my unused powder sponge)
6. A piece of plastic
7. FIMO nail art (optional)

How to do??
1. Start off with applying base coat

2. Then apply two coats of white polish on each finger, and allow 3-5 minutes of drying time between each coat. I used white nail polish to make the gradient color shows up better.

3. Pour a small amount of your nail polish selection on a piece of plastic. Dip the tip of makeup sponge into the polish and stipple it onto your nails, covering the lower half of your nails (to the tips).

4. To make the darker gradient color, again, dip few more times the tip of your makeup sponge into the polish, and stipple the polish over the first layer of color, starting at the tip of your nail. Instead of using the same polish, you could use the darker shade nail polish to enhance the darker effect. You could repeat the same procedure until you like the way it looks. It should look like your nails are slowly getting darker as you go from the cuticle to the tip.

5. This step is completely optional—you can add decoration to your nail with a FIMO nail art, like I do with the blue butterfly on my both thumbs.

6. Finally, apply a layer of top coat to preserve your nail design.

And voilà, you have trendy ombré nails that will be dazzling all summer long!! Please don't hesitate to share below if you try this trend too :)

Easter Nail Edition

Hello everyone XD

Finally, Easter is coming tomorrow... I'm really excited welcoming it, that's why I specially post this for Easter time.

Easter is always identical with eggs and bunnies, and voila...this week I did my "Bunny Easter" nail on my left hand, and a fun girly polkadot nail on my right hand. I did purposely make different design on both hands, so when you clasped or folded your hand (like praying hand position), you could see a fun variation nail art. Here are some sneak peeks for you:

I actually found the tutorial of the bunny design through Youtube videos for a while ago. Then I decided to recreate the look for Easter. If you're looking for the same inspiration, please click Cute Easter Bunny Nails for your reference. For the fun girly polkadot, you might find similar tutorial at my previous post, Simple Polkadot Nail Art .

Nail Products used:
Orly French Manicure Nail Lacquer for French Tips -Softest White (used for all white shades)
OPI Nicki Minaj Pink Friday (used for all the pink shades)
OPI Touring America A Taupe the Space Needle (used for the bunny's eyes)

Lastly, "Have a Hoppy Easter everyone!! Sends you all peace, love and Easter spirit."

Please don't hesitate to leave me a comment what nail design do you wear for this Easter or maybe if you also recreate the same look!!
