Review: NYX Slide on Pencil Jet Black & Purple Blaze

Hello everybody...

I'm sorry that I have been away from blogging world this few months. I have no excuses for that. My bad... :(
For the side note, I will give you special exciting announcement at the end of this post, so please read it through :)
But for now,  I'm back with a new review of my current favorite pencil eyeliner. Once again, it is from my favorite brand, NYX.

I was actually in need of purchasing new pencil eyeliner, that's why I decided to try NYX Slide on Pencil. This product was actually released two years ago and I've heard so many good reviews about it, that's why I was certain to pick this product as my new buddy in my makeup collection.

Product Description (by NYX Cosmetics)
The formula is waterproof, doesn’t smear or smudge, and provides extreme color. It’s like a liquid eye liner in a pencil without the mess. There are 18 shades offered, and these retail for $8.

My thoughts
Overall, I would say that I'm loving this pencil eyeliner so much and never forget to bring it along inside my makeup pouch.  As what NYX has claimed, it  glides on the skin very easily. All you need is just one swipe and it perfectly pigmented. I normally wear it on my waterline and it has minimal smudging compare to other brands I've tried before. For getting them off at once is also require a good makeup remover. So, I definitely agree that they are actually waterproof.

I actually got two shades of them, Jet Black and Purple Blaze
Jet Black is a deep matte black, and Purple Blaze is a shimmery purple shade. Jet Black is a kind of must have pencil eyeliner, meanwhile Purple Blaze is more on fun side. Here are the swatches:

Top: Purple Blaze
Bottom: Jet Black
PROS:
  • Regarding the price, this product is definitely a steal. As you might heard from other review that these pencils are the closest dupe to Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil. Honestly I've never tried the Urban Decay one, but considering that comparison, this product is worth the hype
  • They are very easy to use, and offer 18 beautiful and vibrant shades selections you might have seen
  • If you in need of waterproof eyeliner, this pencil is absolutely a go
  • It might smudge a little bit, especially if you have oily eyelids. You might need a few minutes to let it set
  • The color is very creamy and pigmented
  • This pencil can be sharpened using any regular size eye pencil sharpener
So far, I don't have any cons for the product. I'd give a thumbs up for NYX Slide on Pencil and definitely recommend it to you all. Please let me know in the comment below if you ever tried this pencil liner and how you think about it. I also open for any good pencil liner recommendation from you.

Last but not least, the exciting announcement I mentioned earlier is that currently I'm running a small clothing business with my friend. If you are interested to check it out, you might see our FB page Iconic Boutique or IG: @shopaticonic
And special for you my lovely readers, we offer you our HOLIDAY SALE PROMO, an additional 5% OFF for clothing purchases by mentioning the code CLASSYJEZZIE to our CS. Get Over It and Move On!!!

Hi dear,

I'm sorry that I posted a bit behind lately. I have just been through a lot recently and I required quite some time to readjust myself and get back on my own feet. I don't normally post other than beauty or fashion related. However today I want to make post about something a bit different, but still girl stuff.

Some of you might experience how hard sometimes to move on and let go off someone that we really cares about. It might be easy to say it, but it's a challenge to do. However the past is the past. When someone walks out of your life, let them. There's no use in wasting your time on people that leave you. What you make of yourself and your future is no longer tied to them. Yeah, you may miss them, but just because you miss someone, doesn't mean you need them back in your life. Missing is just a part of moving on.

Here I'm sharing some quotes for motivating you all:

Hope all those quotes might help and encourage you all to move on and look at the brighter side of life. I'm not the expert of this but I just would like to share with you all because I believe there is someone out there who needs encouragement after a break up or losing someone they love.
Gather yourself together and live forward!! Stay strong and learn from it!! Start do something that you really love to do but never got the chance to do it!  and keep believing you might smile sincerely again one day with someone who truly cares about you! Share the love girls <3<3<3

NOTW: O.PI Anti-Bleak

Dear girls,

As my previous promise, today I'll review one of the studio shades from O.P.I Mariah Carey Collection that has been released for quite a while back. It is called O.P.I Anti-Bleak.

O.P.I Anti-Bleak is a gorgeous plum berry color, towards more to red violet side. The formula was pretty amazing. It was so smooth and really opaque. I could just get away with two coats as shown in the picture. I'm a fan of this polish since it particularly gives a gorgeous creamy and luscious finish to the nail.

I know that there are several similar shades to O.P.I Anti-Bleak in the market, but so far I couldn't find the exact dupe. If you are an O.P.I fanatic, you might wondering if this shade is  the dupe of O.P.I No Spain No Gain and O.P.I Casino Royale, I would say they both are the most similar ones. Three of them are in the same berry category but with slight difference in the base tone color. No Spain No Gain is towards more into fuchsia tone, meanwhile Casino Royale leans more to the reddish side. Even though they are not the exact dupe, they most likely look the same from far.

The only bad thing I would point out from this polish is once it stained, it was quite hard to get rid off. You might use a bit of effort to scrub it off. Other than that, I really like this shade. It gives a good looking manicure on the nails without trying too hard.

What do you all think?? If you love such a creamy polish and don't have any similar shade, I definitely recommend this nail polish a go.

Review: The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes

Hello everyone,

I can't believe it's already May and again I was running behind for posting here. I feel truly bad right now that I just made one post last month. I was overwhelmed with new projects that I'm currently doing. I promise to tell you all but *fingers crossed* I should keep it for at least 'til the end of this month.

In terms of doing the project, I've been travelled abroad for few times recently. Therefore, being practical is my first priority during the trip. On my daily basis, I normally use facial cleansing milk to clean off my make up after shower. However, it will be a troublesome to bring along the whole bottle during the trip. That's why I normally put them in the small container, but as you know that most of the container made of plastic, and well... once the container was broken, I couldn't say anything except to throw it away T_T.
Since I was still in need to clean off my make up, I decided to go into drugstore or supermarket nearby. By any chance, I spotted The Body Shop counter on the way, then I instantly went there to check if they had what I need. And I found... The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes

I've read a blog post from my favorite fellow bloggers, Shasha about how she likes the tea tree product lines from The Body Shop. Besides, this product is just as practical as I need. Then, I thought this should be perfect during the time being.

Product Description
(info from The Body Shop website)

The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes contains of 25 wipes that looks just like wet tissues. These one-step wipes for blemished skin remove make-up, pore-clogging impurities and excess oil. Cleanse and refresh skin on the go.
  • Remove make-up, impurities and oil
  • Reduce excess shine
  • Do not over-dry the skin
  • Handbag-friendly
  • Biodegradable
How to use
Take a wipe/tissue from the pack and gently wipe over the face and neck. Remember to reseal the pack after use to avoid dryness.

Ingredients
Water, Sorbitan Laurate, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Sodium Benzoate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil, Potassium Sorbate, Propylene Glycol, Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate, Citric Acid, Dilauryl Citrate, Dimethiconol, Limonene, Ethylhexyl Glycerin, Laureth-23, Laureth-4, Steareth-100, Steareth-2, Citral, Leptospermum Petersonii (Lemon Tea Tree) Oil, Tocopherol

What's special about it?

  • Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil from Kenya - an ingredient renowned for its anti-bacterial benefits, an infusion perfect to help blemished skin
  • Tamanu Oil from Madagascar - traditionally used to promote healthy-looking skin and has fantastic skin moisturising properties
  • Lemon Tea Tree from Kenya - Anti-bacterial to give the products a zesty fragrance

Pros?
  • It's really practical especially during traveling; easy to bring and quick use.
  • It does the job pretty good. It removes excess oils and light make up, but not really recommended for removing heavy make up.
  • The smell is pretty cool and refreshing and you could feel it on your skin too

Cons?

  • As you could see from the name, Tea Tree, you will expect this product will be really refreshing for the skin. And it does... Some of you might be fine about the smell, but for me personally it is a bit too strong.
  • I heard that the product is really good for acne pro skin. However, I don't think it is suitable for everyone especially with dry and sensitive skin. I have quite a dry skin, and the first time I tried this wipe I felt like my cheeks and my eyes was burnt. I don't know why either it was because of the cool sensation or irritation. It didn't leave any redness and luckily the burnt feeling was slowly disappear. Then, I stopped using it for a while. And recently, I was using it again and this time I felt a bit better than the first time. So, probably my skin has managed to adapt.
  • As I mentioned earlier that this product doesn't really do well for a heavy makeup. I personally dislike to clean my eye makeup with this wipe. It just couldn't clean it thoroughly, and I feel the sensation was too much especially for eye area.
  • The price is around IDR 69.000 for a pack with 25 wipes. It is still okay to use it occasionally, but not for regular basis.
  • If you notice the 3M sign on the packaging, it means that this product should only be used for three months after opening the packaging.

Overall thoughts

Personally I'm not really a fan of the product. It might works well on others due to different skin type. I heard that it is really good for acne pro skin, but I don't really recommend it for dry and sensitive skin. I'll try to use it up but might not repurchase it.

If you have any good recommendation of cleansing wipes for dry and sensitive skin, let me know below.

NOTW: O.P.I Mini Euro Centrale

Hello everyone ^^

Unbelievable me ;( Again, I was run behind for posting here. I couldn't believe myself for keep saying my apology for few posts already. So I wouldn't promise you guys anything but I'll try my best to catch up real soon. Anyway, for catching up my Nail of the Week posts, today I'll feature one of the newest collection from my favorite nail polish brand, O.P.I

It was released for their Spring/Summer 2013 Collection, O.P.I Euro Centrale. Taken from their press release, the concept of this collection is how classic meets contemporary. For this collection, they featured Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania as the name of the polishes since they found those countries make up an exciting new fashion hotspot where history meets modern design. Euro Centrale offers 12 beautiful shades; a mixture of glamorous metallic hues, playful bright shades in periwinkle, aqua and pink; and creamy blues in indigo, midnight, and aubergine.

I immediately fell in love since the first time I saw the collection. Honestly I tried to restrain myself not to buy so many polishes right now, but I can't resist not to buy any shades from the collection. I bought the mini package and OPI...Eurso Euro in the regular 15ml size, which I 'll feature next. I pretty much like most of the colors in the mini package, that's why I decided to get the mini ones instead buying several regular sizes. The other thing is that I could try first how I like those polishes before committing to buy the regular ones.

There are 4 lovely shades in the O.P.I Mini Euro Centrale (4x3,75 ml).

(Left to Right):

Can't Find My Czechbook is becoming one of my favorite aqua blue. It has a bit dusty tone there, but still looks gorgeous on the nail. The formula is nice and opaque, and it just took me two coats for great coverage.

Suzi's Hungary AGAIN! is a warm medium pink with slight shimmer on it. You might hardly pick up the shimmer in the photos below, but in person you might notice it. The formula was on thinner side. It took me 2-3 coats to get it opaque.

L to R: Can't Find My CzechbookSuzi's Hungary AGAIN!You're Such a BudapestOY- Another Polish Joke!
You're Such a Budapest is a creamy periwinkle purple with very subtle silver shimmer. It's hard to notice the shimmer though, either in the photos or real life. The formula is good but more on the sheer side. I was using 2-3 coats to have a lovely consistency as the photos.

OY- Another Polish Joke! is a shimmery gold shade. I normally need to apply 3 coats since it runs more on the sheer consistency. I also thought this polish might be good to use for layering over other colors too.

T to B: Can't Find My CzechbookSuzi's Hungary AGAIN!You're Such a BudapestOY- Another Polish Joke!
Overall, I'm really satisfied with O.P.I Mini Euro Centrale, especially their variety of shades. I wish that the formula was a bit creamier than it is. But still, how I can pass all those lovely colors. I just think those colors are so cheerful, girly and summer-y at the same time, and I'll definitely get wear out each of them a lot. I recommend you all to get this mini package if you want  to spice up something fun and colorful in your polish collection.

Lastly, Selamat Hari Kartini untuk semua wanita di Indonesia!! <3
Stay fabulous!!

Review: NYX Felt Tip Eye Liner

Hi everyone ^^

To repay back my lack of post recently, here is another review of my favorite NYX products. I remember I was raving about how I like NYX Liquid Black Eyeliner in my previous post, please click if you would like to read the review. Recently, I tried their pen marker eyeliner and surprisingly I fall in love with this too <3. Yeah, in this post I'll talk all about NYX Felt Tip Eye Liner

Product Description
(info from NYX official website)
NYX Felt Tip Eye Liner eye marker creates a smudge-proof, budge-proof and waterproof line that lives up to its description as a “one-day tattoo.” The eye liner marker releases the ideal amount of ink for decidedly dramatic peepers. Available in 3 mysterious shades: Extreme black, Jet black, and Dark brown

Ingredients
Water, Acrylates Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Laureth-21, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Hydrolyzed Conchiorin Protein, Perilla Ocymoides Extract,Propylparaben, Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Methylparaben. May contain: Neheneth-30, Alcohol, Sodium Polyaspartate, Ethylparaben, Disodium Edta, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide, Iron Oxides, D&C Black.

Pros
  • It is super easy and practical to use, because it basically looks like lining and drawing with a normal pen marker.
  • The tip is super fine and sharp that makes really easy to create a precise line, either thin or thicker.
  • I got mine in the Jet Black shade and it is a deep dark black. I don't really know much for the difference shade between Jet Black and Extreme Black. But for me, the Jet Black one already has a perfect black consistency.
  • The formula is pretty inky. It also glides on smoothly with no pulling or tugging. It dries pretty quick too once you applied it on the eyelids.
  • It doesn't smudge and stays on pretty long.
  • Affordable price. I got it around 7.00US$ or Rp 95.000. You might purchase it at Cherry Culture or Enchanté Yourlittlesecret
Cons
  • I'm really pleased because this eyeliner is waterproof, like they claimed. However, it does a bit tricky to remove the line thoroughly. Either you need a better make up remover or you need to rubbing it for few times. Therefore, it is also better to create nice line on your eyelids from the beginning rather than to remove and repeat.
  • I heard some complaints that this product itself dry pretty fast, and you could not use the liner anymore. Probably some of you might experience the same thing.  Personally, I have no problems with that up to now. I just make sure that I use this eyeliner pretty often and never forget to close the cap properly once I'm done using it. I guess it is the same case if you have normal pen marker at home, you might find it dry if you never use it for long time or the cap was opened for some time.

Overall thought

I know that NYX Felt Tip Eye Liner is not the only marker liner available in the market. But overall I'm always pleased with NYX products and can't resist to try this product particularly. Despite the tricky removal process, I love this eyeliner. It has no smudge, waterproof, lasts all day, easy to use, nice consistency, and pretty affordable. I really like to use this particular eyeliner to create wing liner or cat eye look because its precision tip. I definitely will repurchase this felt tip eyeliner and recommend you all to try, especially for a make up beginner.

Have you tried this pen marker eyeliner? Do you have any other recommendation of felt tip liner??

Lastly, HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! Wishing you all love, peace, and happiness!! <3
